Petunia
Petunia x violacea 'Laura Bush' is named after our
43rd President George W. Bush's wife Laura. This variety is a cross between the
V.I.P. Petunia and the Old Fashioned Petunia. 'Laura Bush' produces fragrant
violet flowers from Spring until frost and is a prolific grower, it should be
trimmed about once a month to keep the plant compact. This petunia will reseed
true to type every year. This particular variety was bred and developed in
San Antonio, Texas and is more cold tolerant, disease
resistant, and heat tolerant than most of the modern Petunias of today. This
Petunia can get 24" tall and 36" wide. 'Laura Bush' has also been know to thrive
in alkaline soils, Wow what a plant!!
